Perry Lee Ellis a.k.a. "Cricket" was born January 26, 1947 to the late James Ellis, Jr. and Verna Mae Rand. He transitioned peacefully on February 18, 2024 at home surrounded by family. Cricket is preceded in death by his parents, aunt and uncle, one brother: Jeffrey Roston, and 2 daughters: Lisa Jackson Jordan and Tamika Smith. He leaves to cherish in his memory three sons, Donald Johnson of Virginia, Carl Ellis of Reed, AR, Patrick Smith of Portland, AR, and one daughter Kanisha Ellis of McGehee, AR. He also leaves 5 brothers and 8 sisters and a legacy of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends. Family hour will be from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday March 01, 2024 at Evening Star MBC, 1101 South First Street McGehee, AR 71654. Funeral services will be held at McGehee Chapel MBC, 202 Church Street McGehee, AR 71654 at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday March 02, 2024. Services are entrusted to Willis Funeral Home, 101 North Park Street, McGehee, AR 71654. Interment will be at Strickland Memorial Lawn, 4 Mile Creek Road, Dermott, AR 71638.
